Artist Statement: This quilt is dedicated to my Grandfather. In his lifetime, "Uncle Bill" Richards built roads, sold cars, and served as Justice of the Peace. On his desk was a wood carving saying, "Justice with Mercy." Then Alzheimer made it impossible to travel the roads he built in the cars he sold. Where is the "justice" and "mercy" in this disease? Made for the Dallas Area Fiber Artists, 2012 "Pathways" Alzheimer’s Quilt Challenge.
