Width: 8.25" Length: 8.25"
Designer: Laurie Aaron Hird, Farmers Wife Pony Club, Pigs Tail Block, used with written permission.Materials/Techniques: Batik fabrics and paper piecing.
Artist Statement: My Grandmother had Alzheimer's. The colors in the quilt remind me of the days when my mother and her sisters first found out about my Grandmother’s condition and toward the end of my Mimi's life. The yellow and green represent her better days in the beginning. The blues when her memory was good one day and not so good the next. The dark colors represent when she did not remember any of her family any more, which was heartbreaking.
