Materials/Techniques: This quilt is a whole cloth cotton quilt with the design drawn and dyed with Fabrico Markers. It is heavily quilted in a structural echo and fun patterns to play with the design.
Artist Statement: Why I made this quilt? Alzheimer’s has touched our family. We lost someone very precious to us… to me. Her family name was Grandma Anne. To me, she was my mother-in-law and so very special. I hope this will help aide in the fight, so that others don’t lose their special someone to Alzheimer’s.
Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to Grandma Anne. She would love to get a new pair of flashy flat shoes every so often. There were several casual pant suits she would wear and the latest flashy shoes. She would put on her new shoes and show them off with a big grin on her face and would think, “I just might want the gold ones too”. She would go back and treat herself to some gold ones. She never really bought herself much, but she did like a little flash in her shoes…and they were always comfortable too. I miss her very much.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $175 for the AAQI.
