Materials/Techniques: This quilt is a whole cloth cotton quilt with the design drawn and dyed with Fabrico Markers. It is heavily quilted in a structural echo and fun patterns to play with the design.
Artist Statement: Why I made this quilt? Alzheimer’s has touched our family. We lost someone very precious to us… to me. Her family name was Grandma Anne. To me, she was my mother-in-law and so very special. I hope this will help aide in the fight, so that others don’t lose their special someone to Alzheimer’s.
Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to Grandma Anne. She would love to hear all the stories about the kids, what the other family was up to. The amazing thing is she could keep track of it all. Her family is large. When I first came to visit in Georgia she would tell me of the family and said she was going to test me. They had one of those sister marrying a man whose sister married the first wife’s brother. I have one of those on my Father’s side and it makes for figuring out family stuff a bit bonkers. I was so confused after the break down of the family tree. Talk about nervous. I think she loved doing that to me. I miss her very much.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $101.62 for the AAQI.
