Materials/Techniques: This quilt contains half-square triangles from the SoTTT’s exchange on thequiltshow.com. We swapped about a quarter of a million hsts with quilters from all over the world. I sewed them into a strip and placed a large piece of hand dyed fabric. There is a meandering design with tiny hsts and loops over the strip and on the larger piece, well let’s just say I just had some fun with it.
Artist Statement: Why I made this quilt?
Alzheimer’s has touched our family. We lost someone very precious to us… to me. Her family name was Grandma Anne. To me, she was my mother-in-law and so very special. I hope this will help aide in the fight, so that others don’t lose their special someone to Alzheimer’s.
Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to Grandma Anne. She and James had a special marriage. He would pick on her and it would irritate her, gently, not too much. She would made his favorite meals and he would eat every bite. When something needed fixing, he made the repair his way. She would show it off. She would clean the house and be so proud. He would leave a note for her, nothing much, a little paper with a simple message, maybe a sentence. She would fold it up, hold it to her heart and blush. When he came in she would grab him and give him a kiss, he would blush too. I miss her very much.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $87.76 for the AAQI.
