Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: I had a photo of the vintage quilt which I scanned to make my templates. Both vintage and contemporary cotton fabrics were used on this hand appliquéd, hand embroidered and hand quilted piece.
Artist Statement: A vintage quilt dated 1941 in embroidery was the inspiration for this little bird in loving memory of my mother. She grew up on a farm and she loved and appreciated all of nature and was especially fond of the cheerful little birds signaling spring - a season of hope.
Dedication: In loving memory of my mother - Verna Erickson Smith.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
