Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: This original design is made with hand dyed fabrics (cotton and linen) and embroidery floss. The edges are enclosed with a facing and the back includes my embroidered initials as well as the fabric label. This quilt includes raw edge appliqué and is completely hand stitched except for the facing.
Artist Statement: This quilt was started in a cloth weaving class with Jude Hill. After the class I added couching, embroidery, and kantha stitches. At the last minute it made me think of the sun, hence the title.
