1025 - Thoughts Sewn Together

1025 - Thoughts Sewn Together
Carolyn Joy Roorda, age 11 (now 12)
Las Vegas, NV   USA

Width: 8"   Length: 8.75"

Materials/Techniques: Fusible appliqué; machine stitched, satin stitched edges, hot fix crystals.

Artist's Statement: The right side has blocks of certain memories sewn together with a steady stitch, and the stones are electric channels that keep the memories together. The right edges are straight, also the channels. The left side has specks of memories that pop up in your mind for a while and switch to another memory the next moment. Notice how the stitching is wiggly and out of control. The edges are wild and some memories are falling off.
