Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: Acrylic paints, thread sketching and free motion quilting.
Artist Statement: Dandelions are typically thought of as weeds, but I had a certain fondness for the ones I would see while walking to class through the arboretum. In contrast to the typical dandelions growing on grassy lawns, these ones would grow unusually long stems as they fought for some sunshine amidst all the other plants. To me they represented perseverance, and the ability to keep striving to survive even when conditions were tougher than usual.
