Artist's Statement: My Alzheimer’s piece compares the mind to a beautiful rose. As you grow older your rose begins to die off, and petals begin to fall. The petals representing your memories slowly but surely fall to the ground where you are only prone to see them every once in a while.

Dedication: I dedicate my piece to everyone suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, and hope the best for them. (Rachel’s mother is a nurse educator, and encourages her two daughters in their creativity and compassion).
