Designer: Carol Doak, 50 Little Paper-Pieced Blocks, used with written permission.

Materials/Techniques: 100% cottons and batiks with cotton batting, machine-pieced and quilted with a double border, then binding. This is a block titled "Pinwheel" from Carol Doak's book. Four corner square triangles for hanging any orientation.

Artist Statement: I further reduced the original 3" block titled "Pinwheel" to 2 1/4" to allow for a 3x4 setting of the 12 blocks. I chose the warm colors of yellow, orange and red with the spiky center being a beautiful green batik. The pinwheel pattern and warm colors of this block remind me of warm breezes at the beach, thus the quilt title "Warm Summer Breeze". This is my 28th quilt for AAQI.
