Reston, VA USA
Width: 11.75" Length: 8.75"
Materials/Techniques: Machine piecing and quilting, couched yarn, metallic threads. The tiny prayer flags, which I attached using fabric fusing, are cut from authentic flags with Sanskrit lettering.
Artist Statement: What I love about the Tibetan prayer flag tradition is that the flags are used not to ask for a personal reward, but to send out prayers for peace, love and compassion to bless the whole world. As they are blown by the wind, they sanctify the air and spread good will across all pervading space.
Dedication: For peace, wisdom, and compassion throughout all the world and to all people.
This quilt has a Split Sleeve.
