Materials/Techniques: Crazy Quilt with embroidered embellishment.
Artist's Statement: This is one of my wayward mermaids. I start with an early 20th century nude photo and print it onto treated fabric. That is the base of the mermaid. Then I draw the tail freehand as I see her in my imagination. No two are quite alike.
Dedication: For Ellen, who spent her later life caring for two Alzheimer’s afflicted family members.
