Cotton, colonial knots (candlewicking), glass seed beads; hand quilted.Artist's Statement:
Not being a domestic goddess, keeping clean a white quilt (however small) is always a challenge. After hemming down the binding I noticed a small spot on the edge of the quilt. I rushed into the kitchen and ran the offending corner under the cold tap. Having checked that the spot had disappeared, to my horror, I suddenly realised that the entire bottom edge of the quilt was now resting in the meat-pie dish on top of the pile of dirty washing up. This is now probably the cleanest quilt I’ve ever made. Whatever will I be like when I’m old????.
This quilt is displayed with a traditional sleeve
