Materials/Techniques: All cotton. I hand painted the background, and tulip fabrics. The leaves are sewn then added as a three-dimensional element. Machine appliqué and free motion stitching also.
Artist's Statement: I made this quilt one afternoon while the temperatures were about –30 degrees. When spring comes, new hope follows.
