803 - Dancing Tulips ($79.94)

Width: 9" Length: 10.5"
Materials/Techniques: Striped background made from scraps of bright colored satin. Overlay is a filmy piece of organza or the like (taken from a thrift store dress) with gold and plush purple tulips. I used Misty Fuse to attach it to the satin, then I quilted the outlines of the tulips. Back is more striped satin, binding is a cotton batik.
Artist's Statement: I love making “accidental” quilts (the satin was one step and as I was digging through a box of scraps I came upon the overlay material) and the AAQI priority is perfect for them!
