Designer:Variation on a traditional design – first created by Pat Morris of Cody, Wyoming. I have written permission. I varied the pattern by making a different type of star.
Materials/Techniques: Cotton; machine piecing, machine quilting
Artist's Statement: When I saw the original of this quilt (made by Pat Morris of Wyoming), I almost cried. I think it illustrates perfectly the progression of Alzheimer’s disease – little pieces of you disappear. There is still a central core of “you”, but everything doesn’t always connect anymore.

Dedication: For Mother, who sees me as a really good friend, one she can really count on. But who doesn’t always connect me to the daughter she used to have.
