Katy Sirovatka
Neenah, WI USAWidth: 11.75"
Length: 8.875"
Materials/Techniques: Hand-dyed and commercial cotton, some weird drapery, tulle, ribbon, foil, yarn, um…and crayon maybe; reverse and traditional appliqué and fused fiber sandwiches.
Artist's Statement: My fiber art group used “Priority: Alzheimer’s” as our challenge for the year. I used it as a growth opportunity to play with several new techniques gleaned from a class with Francie Ginnochio and an old Quilting Arts article by Deana Hartman.
Katy Sirovatka Dedication: In honor of all those who still remember, while their loved ones forget.
