Materials/Techniques: The colors were picked from my box of scraps too small to be saved.

Artist's Statement: In the beginning, little, light colored things attract a baby’s attention, and as the baby grows, more interesting and complex, but still innocent things start the learning process. The sudden, sometimes confusing turmoil of adolescence with its chaos of emotions and changes eventually evolves into high school and the beginning of lifetime friendships. Now getting jobs, college, and careers are the major concerns. The vibrancy of this time in life creates ambitions to not only be successful, but to have new and varied experiences with family and friends. A more prosperous era may now emerge; better earning opportunities and lessening expenses provide the means to save for the future when there will be more free time for relaxation and new interests that keep life exciting. The few times of sadness now seem to increase with more moments of grief; even as a new generation begins to replace the old. In what seems like only a short time, events slow down; the pace diminishes, allowing more time for remembering, forgetting, and waiting…

Dedication: For those who have experienced the joys and sadness of life and passed to a better place.
