St. Charles, IL USAWidth:
Cotton fabric, cotton batting, varied fibers, metallic rickrack, “found” itemsArtist's Statement:
My 5-year-old grandson wowed us recently with his favorite phrase of the month, “speaking metaphorically,” which I think he picked up from a movie. There is so much in this quilt that speaks metaphorically to me about my parents and a dear friend, their Alzheimer’s journeys, and my memories. Anyone could attach personal meanings as well. The varied fibers are saved from machine embroidery and quilting projects that used colorful threads and are bonded together with stitching to make the background base.
Barb Vlack Dedication:
To honor Trish, my friend, with early onset Alzheimer’s.
This quilt is displayed with Fast Finish Triangles
This quilt earned $45.00 for Alzheimer's research.
