Artist's Statement: My father never talked about his wartime experiences in the South Pacific except to make some jokes about fighting the enemy with his mess kit. He was just a young man, a sergeant in the Army Air Corps, far away from home in a place that was a secret from those who cared the most. His wartime buddies are friends he’ll never forget.
