308 - My Mother’s Sewing Basket: A Lasting Memory ($95)

Designer: Embroidery design by Sue Box and used within license limitations (“no commercial mass production”).
Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric, cotton batting, machine quilting; glass beads, old lace and buttons from my mother’s collection; machine embroidery with rayon thread.
Artist's Statement: My mother taught me to sew, knit, crochet, and embroider. I taught her to quilt. We have spent much of our lives enjoying each other’s handiwork. I miss the times when we used to sew together. Many of her projects in progress have now become mine to finish.
