Leander, TX USAWidth: 6"
Length: 4"
Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabrics, Pellon Peltex interfacing and decorative threads; fused appliqué and machine quilted with satin stitched edges.
Artist's Statement: My husband's grandmothers were both interesting, dynamic women, whose lives fell apart and became disjointed and mixed up due to Alzheimer's. I chose dynamic, bold colors to represent their lives. I arranged them in a composition with a lot of disparate pieces and swirling motion to represent how things fell apart due to their disease.
Dedication: For my husband's grandmothers, both of whom became shadows of their former selves due to Alzheimer's disease.

This quilt earned $15.00 for Alzheimer's research.
