Evanston, IL USAWidth: 8.5"
Length: 11"
Materials/Techniques: Background is upholstery fabric, quilted in rows with alternating straight and decorative stitches. Jonquils are made with yellow puff paint (that was fun!). Butterflies are painted with Jacquard paints, using a stencil for a pattern. Grass, stems and leaves are painted as well. Then I used a mixture of machine quilting and hand embroidery to outline and define.
Artist's Statement: I couldn't resist making another piece for this amazing effort to raise funds for Alzheimer's research.
