Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric and batting; fused satin stitch appliqué, rickrack.
Artist's Statement: I am an editor at Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. We published a pattern for a quilt made by Kelly Monroe called Baskets of My Life. Kelly appliquéd motifs on her quilt that were personally meaningful to her, and some of us on the QNM staff were inspired to make blocks of our own, shown in the June 2006 issue. This quilt is another version of the block I made for that issue. A copy of the magazine is included with the quilt.
