189 - Furry Feathers

Materials/Techniques: 100% cotton scraps; fused, machine quilted, bound with dryer tangles.
Artist's Statement: I had just trimmed off the scraggles from several fat eighths for another project and they looked so pretty. Shame to throw them out, so I layered and fused them, then quilted them. I keep a jar of thread tangles on the dryer and in a glass cookie jar in my sewing room because I like the way they look. I rummaged through my "collection" and used a wide/sloppy blanket stitch to sew them on the raw edge of the quilt by hand.
