Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric with an appliqued figure embellished with metallic thread. Machine pieced, hand quilted.
Artist's Statement: While I have no one in my immediate family, the husband of a dear friend was a victim of Alzheimer's. I felt "If wishes were horses..." represents an individual caretaker's (or family's) wish for their loved one to escape the dark turmoil of Alzheimer's into a golden glow of hope and life as it was previously lived.
