Jeanne Marklin
Silver Spring, MD USAWidth: 9"
Length: 12"
Materials/Techniques: Silk, original photo's on cotton, ribbon, threads, paint marker.
Designer:Artist's Statement: I took a class with Sue Benner last summer at QSDS on fusing and composition. I used a black and white silk blouse remnant for the background, and my own nature photo's for the "squares". It was a pleasure to play with the materials, and I thought it represented the chaos of a person losing their ability to remember who was important - but still gain joy from nature.
Jeanne MarklinDedication: A good friends mother recently died of Alzheimer's Disease. She is having a hard time grieving what was left of her mother. I wanted to honor the mother who had raised her friend to be a wonderful teacher, mother, wife and friend.
