Artist's Statement: This small skein of geese, surrounded by the blazing colors of a glorious sunset, symbolizes the persistence of the human spirit. Even after Alzheimer’s has stripped away the color in their feathers and muted their cries, these black and white geese fly on towards the end of their journey.
Dedication: Dedicated to my mother, Lura Irene Ash Walton (1916-2005) – While Alzheimer’s dramatically affected her mind and body, her sweet natured soul persisted. She had her moments, but her inner sunshine always managed to reappear.
This quilt earned $50 for Alzheimer's research.
